This year, the energy was unmistakable.
Designers did not chase trends — they asserted identity.
Craftsmanship wasn’t presented — it was celebrated.
And the conversation extended far beyond clothing — touching heritage, memory, diaspora narratives, and modern African luxury.


Designers Leading With Story, Craft, and Soul

The runways highlighted designers shaping the global perception of African fashion:

  • Orange Culture — Genderless silhouettes, emotional storytelling, and a poetic, deeply personal approach to design.
  • Sisiano — Fluid movement, technical draping, and garments that feel choreographed in motion.
  • Fruche — Modern femininity expressed through bold silhouettes, humor, and Nigerian historical reference.
  • Emmy Kasbit — Handwoven Akwete textiles carrying ancestral lineage into contemporary tailoring.
  • Onalaja — High-glamour texture and embellishment, each garment a sculptural archive of memory.
  • Hertunba — A celebration of feminine form, strength, and individuality; garments crafted to honor the spirit.

These designers, along with collectives such as Woven Threads and Green Access, continue to expand what African fashion means — and how it speaks to the world.
